What’s your favorite quote?
If you focus on you, you grow. If you focus on sh*t, sh*t grows.*
*Figuratively speaking. 🙈
What were your main interests before you started your professional journey, and how did those influence your career?
Back in my school days and early in my career, I was all over the place, not knowing where life would take me. 🙂 My real passion was people – in all their forms. I just loved being around them, and that vibe has been my jam. I was a go-to person for organizing teams, school events, college gatherings, and so on. Not gonna lie; I wasn’t a straight-A student, but my hustle and dedication got me where I am now – trying to unlock the question of what HR professionals should have been doing to make a real impact at the organizations.
What aspect of your position at Celtra do you love the most?
Flipping pancakes! 😄 Okay, but for real – I’m all about helping employees. The job is a rollercoaster, mixing excitement, frustration, and fulfillment all at once! Making a positive difference in employees’ working lives, even in the smallest ways, is what I thrive on. Every time I get that feeling of helping someone, it’s a little victory and leaves me feeling rewarded! ❤️
What valuable bit of advice could you share for someone starting a career in Human Resources?
This advice isn’t exclusive to HR professionals— it’s for everyone at the beginning of a career trajectory. Lean in, stay open-minded and curious, and be prepared to put in the effort and go “into the weeds” of your field. Think out of the box, always. We’re all rookies at some point, so soak in the knowledge and expertise that are surrounding you. Be proactive, recognize the value of mentors (go wider, not only those who sit in the same office), get their know-how, and make the most of every chance to level up your game.
And, yeah – don’t always think that you shouldn’t be a follower. I’ve always been one. As much as it sounds ordinary, it’s how I was raised, and it’s just who I am. But hey, it got me to some pretty cool places – what is important is that you try to find the right people that you want to follow – that’s the trick. Life’s a journey, right?
What do you do for fun, and how do you challenge yourself outside of work?
How do I challenge myself, or better yet – how my daughter is challenging me on a daily basis? 🙂 I would say that the number one thing that I LOVE the most is my family. Always been a family person. This gives me the extra fuel that I need in order to enjoy every single day, outside of work and at it. I have so many things that I would like to do additionally, but currently, my focus is limited, and I am fine with that!
What has been the most rewarding achievement during your time with Celtra?
Meeting my husband (🙈). And I would say that I’ve made some good steps toward enhancing the value and impact of the HR department within Celtra.
What sets Celtra apart from the rest of the competition?
The talent we’ve got is just something else. I take a look around, and there are so many amazing, talented, passionate individuals – not just at their jobs but in life overall. It’s what makes Celtra stand out, and I’m grateful to be working with, supporting, and knowing them.
