Wolt, a leading local commerce delivery platform operating in over 30 countries and 1000+ cities, needed a smarter way to meet the rising demand for localized advertising. With a small creative team and growing production needs, manual workflows were holding them back. By implementing Celtra’s Creative Automation platform, Wolt transformed their creative production process, boosting productivity by over 20x and enabling local teams to produce brand-safe creative at scale.

Challenge: Growing demand, limited resources

As Wolt expanded across new markets, the need for localized advertising grew exponentially. In 2020, the user acquisition team consisted of just two designers, managing three to six campaigns a month – each requiring localization into more than 20 languages.

The creative process was fully manual. Designers were responsible for everything: building concepts, requesting and implementing translations, and coordinating rounds of feedback. What started as a manageable workflow quickly became a bottleneck, with long turnaround times and increasing strain on the creative team.

Wolt needed to find a more scalable solution that would free up their creative resources while enabling faster, more flexible production across markets.

Solution: Automating creative production and empowering local markets with Celtra

In 2021, Wolt introduced Celtra’s platform to automate and streamline their creative workflows. The team started small, using Celtra on smaller projects to test and learn. The impact was immediate: localization time dropped from a full day to just one to two hours, and the volume of variations increased significantly.

Over the next couple of years, more of Wolt’s creative production, including video localization, was moved into Celtra. The workflow evolved: designers focused on building branded templates, while marketers and local teams customized and distributed creatives themselves.

This new approach gave non-designers the power to execute campaigns quickly and independently, while still maintaining full brand control and consistency.

Results: Scaled output, reclaimed time, and stronger brand control

With Celtra, Wolt transitioned from a manual, designer-led process to a fully automated creative supply system. In just one year, the team was able to produce over 300,000 creatives, achieving an over 20x increase in productivity.

Wolt achieved over 20x increased productivity and produced more than 300,000 ads in one year using Celtra’s Creative Automation technology.

Due to the implementation of Creative Automation, designers were freed from repetitive tasks and could focus on high-value creative work, while local teams gained the tools to produce and activate content independently. As a result, campaigns launched faster, creative variety increased, and brand consistency improved across every market.
